I spoke with the seller and she said that they did a volume of 110K last year with 96 K overhead ( I think this inculdes labour costs. ) I'd really like to have my own business that is not high maintainence, but it sounds like this business is not making lots of money. Does any one know of a successful tanning salon owner making at least 50K net take-home? Do you know any disaster stories? Why did they happen? Advice on my web business plan? I'm interested in developing a few websites, in the hopes of generating some passive income through the advertising. My background is in data analysis (not web), but I think that I could put together some interesting data based sites that would appeal to fairly broad or niche audiences. My goal is basically to build a small side money revenue stream, while doing something I enjoy anyway. My business plan is basically this: 1) make some cheaply hosted sites with mostly static content that I think people would visit, 2) sell ads through google adsense or a similar source 3) Put the majority of my efforts into SEO and driving traffic to the sites MY QUESTION: Am I being realistic? Any advice for someone just starting out down this path?
