Are MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) companies a good idea? So I am looking for a little extra income every month and not to get rich quick. I don't believe in get rich quick schemes. Does anyone else agree that multi-level marketing (MLM) companies should be made illegal? Honestly, everyone I've ever met who is involved in an MLM is either: - A manipulative and persistent scammer - A gullible person who got scammed into signing up These companies are nothing more than pyramid schemes that are legal through loopholes. Does anyone agree with me? Sans Diety, I've never "fallen" for an MLM scam in my life. I've just had my time wasted by people trying to get me involved in them.
Are MLM (multi-level-marketing) companies easy to start from home? My friend would like to market a new product, he is considering MLM, would it be better to contact an existing MLM company or would it be more advantageous to start your own? I can understand your view. But consider the Acai berry diet craze that has been mentioned on Oprah and Rachel Ray!!!!!! Holy Cow, you better get some! All that hype is from an MLM company. Look around, most hyped up big sale products are marketed through MLM, the good ones hang around with established repeat sales. He's at the top of the pyramid. You don't think he'll make money?
Looking for a Multi-Level Marketing company (MLM) that has an office to work out of ? I used to work with Equinox before it got shut done in 2000. I am willing to return to this industry if some company has perfected it - and has full time people working in offices. (Presentations 2x daily - Running advertisements in local newspapers) - I am willing to work in any city if you have various products and professional people working in the offices.
Is working for a multi level marketing company a good idea? ? I know this guy who is working for a mlm company and he showed me his monthly income! I was shocked!! He's making $18,000 a month! He never even went to college. He doesn't have experience in mlm! So will it work for me as well? Or is it just another scam? I've known him for 5 years and I don't think he's lying! But what I want to know is if these companies are legit?
United Pro Media! Does anyone know about this multi-level marketing company. Risks? Safe? Any info please? This is a new venture in to western canada. I am told it is big in the USA and eastern canada. It is multi-level marketing, looks kind of like a pyrmaid, but am told it is not. It is investing in a company and their advertising market. You do not sell the products, but promote them and in turn you then have a home based business and therefore tax deductions. If anyone is familiar with this or has any information on United Pro media it would be appreciated
Has anyone ever joined one of those multi-level marketing (pyramid) companies, and actually made money ??? I've recently been approached by a group called "TEAM", that spun off of "Quixtar" (sp), who spun off of Amway. I've gone to a few of the Ra Ra pep rallies that they've become famous for and somehow was persuaded to sign up. Later wondering what I signed up for. I like the idea of creating a second income, but not crazy about the cult like philosophy you need to employee to be successful at it. Just looking for people with experience with this and just general thoughts.
How early do you need to get into a Multi-Level Marketing company to earn well? Most people understand that with MLM companies.. the people who get in early at the top make most of the money and the late comers usually make very little or end up losing money. My question is how early do you need to get in to make it worth it? For instance Primerica has been around for around 20 years or so. People who get in now will never have a chance to make what people who came in 15 years ago can.
Multi-level marketing ethics...? Okay, I'm a part of a multi-level company. I signed up under my mother, one of the ways to get buyers interested is to go into local businesses and show them the products. Now my mother told one of the other people she signed up under her that any businesses in X area she won't sell to and will leave for this other person. My mother informed me of this to tell me that because of this promise she made to someone else I can't go to these businesses either. I didn't make this promise to this person, ethically do I have to avoid selling to these businesses?

Tax Writeoff's from Mulit Level Marketing / Independent Contractor? I signed up with a multi level marketing company last year. The biggest bonus for me was the advice from others in the company that you can use this business as a tax write off for your meals, office supplies, cell phone, car expenses, etc. 1) Is this true that you can write off all of these things if you are not actually making any money from this business? 2) I did not renew with the company this year, so I've only really been with them for half of 2008, can I still use all of the year for write off's? 3) Are there any other companies out there or ways that I can do something for the remainder of this year and next year for write off's? Thanks!

Is multi level marketing and direct sales a good or bad business model and why? An intresting comparrison, Why is it socially acceptable to play the loto, gamble in vegas, persue careers in entertainment, music and pro sports where hundreds of thousands of people put thier hopes and dreams on the line yet only a small handfull of these people walk away successfull and wealthy and trust me these industries do market excitement, hopes and dreams. Also why is it so offensive if someone belongs to a legit MLM company that offers a level playing field and has a shot at building a business and achieveing freedom based on effort?
